About a month ago we went to Casa Loma,"Canada's Majestic Castle" in downtown Toronto. It has 98 rooms, with decorated suites, secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel, towers, stables, and beautiful 5-acre estate gardens. The old furniture & gardens were beautiful, & it was interesting to hear about the history too. The kids' favorite part was the secret passages & underground tunnel from the castle to the stables. Very cool! We all had a great time. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory, and then headed back to Burlington to go swimming with the kids. It was a great way to enjoy our Victoria Day holiday!
Father's Day this year was kind of low-key. We spent time on Saturday, having fun with the family and then took Neil out to the Hibachi Japanese Restaurant here (where they cook the meal for you at the table/grill). On Sunday morning we got up & I made a big breakfast of pancakes (some chocolate chip & some apple cinnamon), scrambled eggs & ham, and then let Neil open his presents. The kids each had made or bought him something on their own, that was so sweet. And I bought Neil a small grill. We got rid of our big grill when we moved to Canada (it was getting old & the moving company can't move propane). We headed to church, and then afterwards we just relaxed at home, enjoyed the afternoon, and used Neil's new grill to cook up some steak & chicken for dinner. I'm so grateful for Neil. He's such a great husband & a great father to our kids! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY SWEETHEART!!!
