We had fun celebrating PJ's birthday this year. We had the PERFECT gift & knew he would LOVE it! He's been wanting an ipod touch for a while now & so when Neil opened his for his birthday 3 days earlier, PJ was suddenly bummed. He said, "Hey I want and ipod touch...Can I get one for my birthday?! I said we had already bought his birthday gifts, but I hoped he would like what we got him & to try not to be disappointed if it wasn't exactly what he wanted." Poor kid had to wait 3 WHOLE days to find out what he was getting, and he had NO IDEA what it was. :) The reaction was priceless! Needless to say, he liked his gift! Anyway, we started out his birthday just hanging out at home (since it was a Saturday), then we had lunch & let him open his presents after lunch, instead of making him wait until after dinner, like usual. He chose cheesecake instead of regular birthday cake for his dessert, since we had had cake for Neil's birthday and then again for Jonah's Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet. After lunch, presents, & cheesecake, we all went to see the movie "HOP." It was cute & we had a fun time. We headed back home & got PJ's new ipod all set up & then that evening we went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner (we always let the kids choose where they want to go out for their birthday dinner, so this was his choice). It was very yummy & we had a great day! We still can't believe that our PJ is 14 years old & will be starting highschool next year!!! Time sure flies! We are so grateful for PJ. He is such a great kid & we are very blessed to have him in our family. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PJ! WE LOVE YOU!! :)
A week after PJ's birthday, he had a birthday party with friends. They all had a great time eating LOTS of pizza, chips, candy, popcorn, cupcakes, soda, etc., playing games, dancing, and watching a movie. We are glad that PJ has such great friends & that they all had a fun time. :)
