On Thursday night, we all got to go to PJ's Jr. High Choir Concert "Blast to the Past!" It was great! The kids all did an amazing job, and had so much fun. It included all the choirs (7th & 8th grade Open Men's & Women's Choirs, as well as the 7th & 8th grade Men's & Women's Select Choirs--PJ is in the Men's Select Choir). They sang a whole bunch of songs from the 1920's up to the present. PJ even sang a solo part during "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis, and did a great job. He said he was kind of nervous, but we couldn't tell. He sounded great! Some of our favorite songs they all sang were "Love Story" by Taylor Swift, "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers, "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night, "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay, and "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. We never sang fun, cool, popular songs like that when we were in school! Our favorite performance of all for the night was "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. It was done by the Men's Choir and at first they all sang the song together, and then afterwards, the (male) choir teacher and about 15 of the boys did the dance to "Thriller" (the one on the music video). It was SO funny! One of the kids was dressed as Michael Jackson too. They had it down & did an awesome job! I love to see our kids in their school performances, and we are really proud of PJ for doing such a great job & having so much fun in the process! :)
FYI...( in the large group photo, PJ is on the front row, right side, just to the right of the red-headed (female) choir teacher. In the photo with just the Men's Select Choir, PJ is on the front row, left side).
