To poop...or not to poop...

So, yesterday we had a day full of swimming lessons, feeding our neighbors cat & toad, watering all their plants, and bringing in their mail (they are out of town for a week). Then we went out to lunch, headed to the park, and then to the movie, then back to the park, then home for dinner and bed. It was a really fun day.

Well, in the midst of all this, we had some humorous things happen (which is pretty common with 4 kids). After the kids swimming lessons, we went to lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. Afterwards, we told all the kids to go to the bathroom, because we were going straight to the park (and there are no bathrooms there). When Neil was in the bathroom with Clay, he asked him if he needed to go "number 2". Clay said no, but we've had emergencies at the park before and have had to leave to rush to the bathroom. So he asked him again. Still, the answer was "No." So, we headed to the park. The kids started happily playing, and Neil was tired, so we sat down in the shade & I told him to lay down on my lap. Well, about 5 minutes later, Clay comes running, with a panicked look on his face, while holding his bum--NOT A GOOD SIGN!! So, we bolted up, and rushed everyone to the car, to head home. We were NOT very happy, especially since Neil had just barely asked Clay TWICE to try & go before we went to the park. So we got home and had him change (he didn't quite make it). Then we decided there wan't that much time before we had to leave for the movie, so they kids just played in our backyard, and we figured we'd go back to the park after the movie.

So, we took the kids to watch "Ice Age 3", which they loved. And afterwards, we said we were going to head back to the park, so everyone needed to go to the bathroom. Clay's eyes got big & he said, "Yea, I have to go really bad so I don't have an accident!" So Neil took him into the mens bathroom. When they came out, Neil was laughing, and Clay said (quite loudly), "Mom, I went Poo AGAIN!" The teenager at the concession counter was chuckling about that. When we got to the car, Neil proceeded to tell me what he was laughing about.

He said that Clay went pee in the urinal (they had one that was smaller and closer to the groud for little guys), and then Clay said he had to go poo too. Neil said okay, figuring he'd go into one of the stalls. Well, when Neil turned around, he saw Clay, with his pants around his ankles, his little white bare bum sticking out, crouching to try & sit on the urinal! Luckily, Clay didn't actually do anything before Neil got him into a stall, to the toilet. Too funny! Like I've said before...kids keep things interesting & very entertaining! :)

Hilarious! The urinal story is great.

I wonder what it is about kids. Kevin has to go #2 almost every time we go to the park. It drives me nuts. We too have had to rush everyone home a few times.
