Well, today was the kids’ school open houses, where they get to meet their new teachers, see their classrooms, etc. You’d think it was Christmas or something, our kids are so excited! Jonah is so excited to FINALLY be in kindergarten. He is so very ready. We were so thrilled that he got the same kindergarten teacher that Tessa had. She was wonderful! She was even voted “Teacher of the Year” last year. Jonah got a tour of the school and playground and everything, while the parents were in the orientation meeting. He can’t wait until Monday, for the real thing!
Then, Tessa also got a great teacher (the one she was hoping for). And as an added bonus, her best friend ended up in the same class as her. She is thrilled! And she is very excited to start wearing her new school clothes on Monday. She already has her whole week planned, with which outfits she’s wearing on which days. So funny!
PJ also got some great teachers. This is his 2nd (and last) year at middle school. The 6th graders actually get their own lockers and everything. He’s really excited about that, and wants to buy some locker accessories. He is excited to be in the school choir again, for the 3rd year in a row, as well as his pre-AP classes. I still can’t believe that he’ll be in Jr. High next year! They are all growing up so fast!
Then there’s my little Clay. We were planning on putting him in the preschool where Jonah went last year, in the 3-year old class. But after thinking about it, and going back and forth, trying to decide, we decided to just wait until next year for preschool. We’ve only done preschool with our other kids the year before kindergarten, and I just don’t think I’m ready to send him yet. He’s my baby, and my little buddy, so we’ll just have fun going to story time and craft time at the library, and do a little preschool fit kids class at the fitness center, where they sing songs, kick balls, play with a big parachute, and work on large motor skills, for a half-hour once a week, and a preschool playgroup with some ladies from church on Fridays. It will be a lot of fun.
I’m so excited for my kids to get back into school. They all love school so much and have so much fun. I’m so proud of them, for always trying their best, and doing so well, and being such good kids. They are great kids and I feel so blessed to be their mom. Like I’ve said before, it’s kind of one of those bitter-sweet things. You want them to grow, and learn, and develop their talents, and become more independent and all that, but on the other hand, it’s sometimes hard to let them grow up, because it goes so fast. But, we are all looking forward to a great year with lots of fun!

The start of a new school year is always so exciting! Good luck on Monday!
It's always so bittersweet with the start of a new year. I can't believe Jonah is in kindergarten- his long wait is finally over! We need to plan a day to get together!
So today is the big day how did it all go? Just about the time you get a routine going it always changes. Good luck!!!
Hope you're kids had a good first day...
Ashley is NOT at Spring Hill-- and that's why it's extra hard, I mean "exciting" for her. :) We are zoned for Ruth Barker. Seems like a nice school.
