Welcome home...

Well, we finally closed on our new house on Friday, May 29th.  That evening we picked up some pizza & headed to our new place for dinner on the kitchen floor.  This has kind of become a tradition for us (yes, when you move 12 times in 20 years, you end up creating traditions for each time you move!)  The next morning, we met with the contractor who is going to finish the basement for us before we move in.  We gave him a key and went over the last few instructions, and they got started early Tuesday morning.  They got the sub-floor installed, the framing all done, and are starting on the wiring & plumbing.  Next week they'll do the drywall & lighting, then finish the bathroom, painting, carpet, moulding, and we'll be about done!  They will have it completed by the end of the month, and we'll move in as soon as it's done.  In the mean time, I've been taking over lots of boxes from our storage rooms (there was a lot that I never even unpacked).  I've gone over every day this week (while Neil & the kids are at work & school), with several loads of stuff.  That will make it easier when we are ready to move, to just rent a U-haul, get the last big items, and be done!  The kids even got a couple new paper routes right by our house (they start the first week in June).  And we've been to their school open houses, so they could meet the principals, and take a look around.  Hopefully we love it there!  :)

Enjoying our first dinner at our new home.
A little House-warming gift I gave my family-- hugs & kissed to fill our home with love!  :)
