A couple of weeks ago, Jonah & Clay had their cross country meet. They both did great & had a fun time. They raced according to grade, so Clay went first, and then Jonah ran about 45 minutes later. After their races, they had a snack with their friends & hung out, cheering for the other kids from their school.

That next weekend (Oct. 4-5), was General Conference weekend, which just happens to be our 2 favorite weekends of the year! We love listening to our prophet, apostles, & leaders of our church speak. It's always so uplifting & inspiring, and gives us a little spiritual boost. And it's our family tradition to always have a big turkey dinner on Sunday between the conference sessions. We love it! Wonderful talks, family time, and delicious food! What is better than that?!!
The following week was Canadian Thanksgiving (Oct. 13). The kids had that Friday off for a teacher-prep day, and then Monday was a national holiday for everyone. So we enjoyed a 4-day weekend, relaxing & having fun!
On Friday, the kids all had dentist appointments, and then Jonah & Clay played with some friends & afterwards Tessa & Jonah delivered their papers, and we got a video & treats to watch that night. (Neil was out of town, and didn't get back until that night).
On Saturday morning, Neil & I got up early & headed to the temple at 6 a.m., which was so nice. We got back by about 9:45, just in time for PJ to head to work, and for us to take the other 3 kids to their music lessons. After PJ got home that evening, we all went to see a movie together ("Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very-Bad Day"). It was really cute & we all enjoyed it.
On Sunday, we went to church, and then in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving, we decided to do a Ham dinner (since we already had a big turkey dinner the week before). The kids said we absolutely COULD NOT break our General Conference tradition of our turkey dinner, so decided to do something else for Canadian Thanksgiving. :) (We should have served poutine!)
On Monday, we got up & did a few things around the house, and then headed in to Toronto, to have lunch at PF Changs. We LOVE that place, and were craving it, and since it was a holiday, we had plenty of time. It was SO good!!! After we came home, Neil enjoyed a nap, and the kids worked on a little homework, and then we headed to a local pumpkin patch & corn maze. It was a lot of fun.
These are the moments I live for! Good times & great memories with my sweet family! There is nothing better! xoxoxo

I think I've decided this is what we need to do when we retire... have a little farm with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, & petting zoo with a couple of goats, bunnies, & chickens. And then cook up some treats & goodies to sell for snacks. Sounds like paradise to me! :)
