HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAY!!!
Six years ago today, Mr. Clay joined our family. He was born 3 weeks early (I was induced because of preeclampsia, just like all my other pregnancies), but he was healthy & perfect. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz., and was 19 in. long. He had a head full of black hair and those chubby little cheeks that I love! I can't believe our baby is SIX year old now! Clay is such a sweet little guy & we are so blessed to have him in our family! I love to hear him sing, I love all the cute pictures he makes for me, I love his hugs & snuggles, I love his funny sense of humor. He is such a smart little guy too, and loves to read & learn. He loves playing outside, riding his bike, and playing with his big brothers & sister, and he's excited to start soccer in the fall.
We had a great Memorial Day weekend, having fun as a family & celebrating his birthday. Since Neil had just returned from his trip to England late Friday night, we were very glad to have an extra day to our weekend!
Because we have so much going on with school, work, and awards assemblies tonight, we decided to celebrate Clay's birthday a day early, since everyone was home from work & school, for Memorial Day. We went to a park to let the kids play for a while & took a picnic lunch (from Subway). After that, we went home & let Clay open his presents & then had some birthday cake. He was very specific about what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday (chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, sprinkles on top, and a #6 candle). He also wanted to help me make the cake, which was fun. After his little birthday party at home, we went to see the movie "Rio." It was really cute & we all enjoyed it. After we got home, Clay played with his new legos, read some of his new books, and played with his new dinosaur & frog. Then that night we had a barbeque. It was a great day, beautiful warm, sunny weather, and lots of fun family time!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. CLAY! :)
