A Busy Weekend & PJ's Choir Concert
Saturday was a very busy day for us. It started out at 5:40, when our two little alarm clocks (Jonah & Clay) woke up. I decided to just get up & get them some breakfast, because they weren't going to be going back to sleep, and I had to be up to take PJ to his All-Region Choir clinic at 7 a.m. The choir members met at the Jr. High to take a bus to Springdale Highschool for an all-day clinic, and then a concert that night. After I got back home & got showered & dressed, Neil left to help a family in our ward (they were moving to a new home). Then at 9:00 Clay had his swimming lesson, and at 10:00 Jonah had his basketball evaluation (to start the kids league in January). I wasn't sure how well Jonah would do, with a broken arm, but I was impressed that he made quite a few baskets and was able to dribble just fine, and the coach said he did great (especially considering he had a cast on his arm). After that we headed home for lunch, then Tessa & I went shopping to spend her birthday money. It was fun to have some "girl time" just with her. Then at 3:30, we all headed down to Springdale to pick up PJ & take him out to dinner before the concert (and take his tux to him for the performance). We got back to the highschool around 5:30, and PJ went in to change. The concert wasn't supposed to start until 6:30, but there were parents already going in, so we went in & found a great spot in the 3rd row. We were VERY glad we got there when we did. By about 6:00, the main floor & balcony were all packed and there were people standing in the back isles too. It was a great concert & the kids sounded incredible! I'm always amazed at how well these Jr. High kids can sing! The concert lasted almost 2 hours, and Jonah & Clay were getting so tired (they usually go to bed around 7:30, and we didn't get out of the concert until about 8:30), but we told them if they were really good, then we'd all go out for ice cream after the concert. I wasn't sure if they would still be up to it afterwards, since Clay had fallen asleep and Jonah was almost asleep, but they perked up afterwards so they could enjoy a yummy treat! :) It was a very busy weekend, but lots of fun family time, and fun to watch the kids in various activities and go shopping with my girl!

This is a shot of whole Jr.High Mixed All-Region Choir (There was also an all girls choir and 2 highschool choirs).
This is the only head shot we got of PJ. The Tenor 1 section is always front & center, right behind the piano, and because PJ is short, about the only thing we can see is the top of his head (if that). I only got this shot because I stood up right before they began their performance to get a picture of PJ. He is the middle one of the 3 short boys. :)
THIS was our view of PJ during his entire performance. Impressive, huh?! :) He is the 4th pair of legs from the left, right next to the kid whose white shirt is hanging out. :)
