This past weekend was the annual "Father's & Son's Campout" for our church. The boys always look forward to it and have a fun time. And Tessa and I always look forward to it, for a "girls night out."
Neil went shopping the night before, to get a few essentials for the campout. You know: rootbeer, chips, candy. And I helped gather all their camping gear on Friday morning. As soon as Neil got home from work Friday evening, he and the boys took off for their campout. The weather reports were predicting an 80% chance of severe thunderstorms, so Neil decided to just go to the campout for the dinner and games and such, and then bring the boys home.
So, as soon as the guys left, Tessa and I left to go have some fun. I let her choose where she wanted to go eat out for dinner. She chose one of our favorite restaurants (Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant). It was so yummy! Then we went to get Tessa's hair cut. She's been wanting to get it cut in a different style--layered. She had fun and loves her new hair style. Then we just shopped around, looking at earrings, nail polish, purses, etc. I usually don't like shopping, but with my sweet little girl, it was a lot of fun. She brought her own money to buy some new earrings. When we got home she gave me a pedicure, and I gave her a manicure & pedicure, then we played some games on the Wii, and some Uno. It was a great night.
The boys got home around 10 p.m., and then the big storm hit about an hour later. It's a good thing they weren't camping! TONS of rain, lightning, and thunder. It would have been miserable!
Since the guys had planned on making a big breakfast in the morning with some friends from our ward (who also decided not to spend the night at the campout), They got up at 7:30 to head over to their house to make a big breakfast INSIDE. They had pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, etc. So, while the boys were gone, Tessa and I headed to Krispy Kreme for a donut for breakfast. :)
We all had a great time. The rest of our weekend was spent doing yard work, riding lessons, playing outside, going to church, and just relaxing. It was a fun weekend! :)
