Clay's little "surprise" for Daddy...
Today for Sharing Time in Primary, they were talking about families (specifically Daddy), and all the different things a Daddy does, and the different kinds of shoes he wears for all that he does. It was really cute, and the kids had a lot of fun. Well, near the end, they passed out these little cards that said, "Dear Daddy..." and the kids were supposed to write a little note to their Dads, and leave it in their shoe as a surprise, telling them how much they love them and appreciate them. Well, Clay was so excited to bring home his little note for Daddy and put it in his shoe. When Neil got home (a little while after us--he had to stay for a quick meeting), Clay ran up to him and said he had a note for him "that says I love you", to put in his shoe for a surprise... So Neil said he had some shoes over by the wall, but Clay insisted on putting it in the shoes Neil was currently wearing! Clay said, "They told us to put them in our Daddy's shoes, 'cause we're supposed to do that!" It was so cute, and I couldn't help laughing, as Clay is bent down, lifted up Neil's pant leg, and was trying to shove the note into the side of Neil's shoe, while he had them on! So Neil was walking around for a little while, with a little love note sticking out of his shoe! I guess Clay didn't understand that it was supposed to be a pair of shoes that Daddy wasn't wearing, so he could find it later as a surprise. Too funny! :)
